I just downloaded and installed the b22 release, and all my attempts to play the new WestPac scenarios (2 thru 6) result in "Get Annex" errors, whatever that means. So far, everything else seems OK.

Any suggestions?

Um, beta forum :)

Anyway, sounds like the database is out of date, grab the HCDB from www.harpgamer.com and try again, perhaps we didn't get the newest into B21. http://harpgamer.com...?showtopic=1321

The scenarios all run right under HCDB-070227, I thought they ran fine on previous version too but I may be mistaken.

Seldom wrong and right again, Tony. Problem solved.

Great, now if we knew how it got to be broken life would be even better. I'll have to do a fresh b21 install and see what is in there. Thanks for raising the issue.

While you guys who actually know what you're doing check this out, I have another question. After installing the RES and RSR files to fix the WestPac problem, my homemade Midway platform has once again turned into an artillery emplacement. Is there a way to carry over user defined platforms without hosing things up? If I have to rebuild my homemade platforms, it's not an enormous task, but if there's an easy way to do it, I'd like to know what it is.

Thanx:

Sadly no way to maintain your custom edits across database versions.

You can however keep your commondb.res and .rsr with the custom platforms, and swap them back in as needed. At some point I'll release (with lots of testing help :) ), a scenario and database manager that makes it easy to swap different databases in and out.

I don't know if we'll get to the point of being able to maintain custom platforms. It isn't impossible with the current game, but making it happen requires some effort that so far nobody has put forth. Some general agreement in the community on reserving slots in each annex will be important as well, if that person with time and energy appears.

Time and energy I have in abundance. What I lack, unfortunately, is the MS Outlook expertise needed to figure out a solution that works.
