HarpoonPages invites you to vote for the 2006 Pooner and Lifetime Pooner.

The big news is that this is the 10th Anniversary of the first Pooner vote (Tom Wenck won back in 1996 for his pfedit program). Thanks to yours truly, Don Gilman, Larry Bond, Chris Carlson, and Brad Leyte (Pooner 2005) the award this year includes adoration & thanks of the Harpoon community and more.

The 2006 Pooner will receive a first edition hard cover copy of Red Storm Rising, in Very Good condition (if not fine but I'm no book dealer) signed not only by Tom Clancy, but Larry Bond as well!

The 2006 Lifetime Pooner will receive a copy of Dangerous Ground signed by Larry Bond and Chris Carlson!

To vote and view the past winners, visit http://www.harpoonpa...ooner-Intro.php

If you have any difficulties voting, please send an e-mail to pooner@harpoonpages.com with your name, e-mail address, and your vote for Pooner and Lifetime Pooner and I will enter them manually.

Please post this message on any forum/list/newsgroup where Harpoon players reside so that we can bring in as many votes and cudos as possible to those who sustain Harpoon.

It has been mainly a Harpoon 3 kind of year, both of my choices for 2006 Pooner awards exert much of their effort (but not all) on the H3 side of the fence.

For 2006 Pooner I chose Jan-Paul Köster. His support work, bug verification and ranking, and his work on the AGSI wiki bring him my vote.

For Lifetime Pooner I chose Darrel Dearing. He has programmed the Harpoon games off and on for a very long time, efficiently, with skill, and with an ability to sideskirt the nasty public confrontations some of the rest of us just cannot always let pass. In my opinion he has supported the game in the spirit of a lifetime Pooner.

My votes went the same way.

JP works hard and is a good guy. He does so modestly and deserves the thanks of a greatful community. Nuff said ;)

Darrel's been involved since the beginning and its about time he's been recognized. His time and talent could go a million different ways but he chooses to devote some of both to Harpoon. That really says alot and he should be thanked for it.

I vote for Dimitris, aka, Sunburn, who has toiled in the trenches for a long time now, with little or no recognition.

I know it is only the 3rd day of voting but there are only 9 votes so far and 50+ views of this thread on HULL forum alone (and a few hundred total across most forums) so please vote for the people who have done most for Harpoon in your estimation.

Thank you to those who have placed votes, double thanks to Mike and Byron for sharing their votes here (looking back thru the HULL archives made me realize how great talking up those you vote for is, dare I say as important as the vote itself. But being the 10th year of the Pooner Awards the benefits to the winner are admirable indeed...

The dually signed copy of Red Storm Rising arrived back from Larry Bond this week so it now bears the signatures of both Clancy and Bond!!! The book goes out to the 2006 Pooner who will be announced after voting ends December 31st (the announcement will come by January 7th, most likely Jan 1).

If you haven't voted, or are like Patrick and want to vote multiple times (sorry Patrick, only your first votes are gonna count  ), head on over to http://www.harpoonpa...ooner-Intro.php, then come back here and talk up your vote.

Thanks to those who have voted, if you have any difficulty, contact me at pooner@harpoonpages.com and we'll get your vote squared away.
